Description

BruxZir® is a monolithic, full-contour restorative material based on zirconium oxide, suitable for crowns or bridges not veneered with ceramics.

BruxZir is a synonym for strength rather than aesthetics, but you will be surprised when you compare a BroxZir crown with a pressed crown or veneered metal crown (VMK). Without any risk of chipping, BruxZir offers an ideal solution for bruxists or people grinding their teeth while sleeping.

Monolithic BruxZir crowns and bridges are produced from high-quality zirconium oxide, such that semi-products for milling are manufactured through a special process without mechanical pressing and hence without organic binder, which is commonly used for pressing.

Its average flexural strength is 650 MPa, and its translucency and colour are similar to a natural tooth.

BruxZir Anterior is an ideal, aesthetic solution for all work indicated in the frontal section.

Besides its aesthetic benefits, it is very friendly to antagonist teeth, even more than vitroceramics.

According to the ISO standard on the strength of materials, BruxZir Anterior has been approved for the use in all-ceramic fixed dental prostheses. Indication comprises bridging (bridges with not more than 3 elements and one pontic or solo crowns). After the design stage and production using CAD/CAM technology, BruxZir crowns and bridges are sintered for 6.5 hours at temperatures of 1530°C.

For the completion of a BruxZir Anterior crown or bridge, it is necessary to apply a glaze (compatible for zirconium oxide) and the individual colours (compatible for zirconium oxide).

Patient benefits
  • Ultimately no chipping, because this denture is made from massive zirconium oxide)
  • The glaze warrants a perfect surface and prevent plaque and abrasion
Indication
  • Inlays, onlays
  • Crowns for frontal and distal sections (ceramic layers must be applied to frontal crowns)
  • Bridges with not more than 3 elements (Bruxzir Anterior)
Occlusal adaptation and polishing

The adaptation of BruxZir monolithic works in the mouth should be carried out using a fine diamond tool sufficiently cooled by water before completion of the work.

In this way we prevent surface overheating and the appearance of fine cracks in the material. The adapted BruxZir surfaces can then be polished using any ceramic polishing system.
